A-List Realtors owner, Ricky Hopkins Sr., was featured in an article on the St. Louis Better Business Bureau blog, The Torch. Hopkins started his realty business to help the under-served in the community, giving them more support than other real estate agents. The City of Florissant swim team, The Florissant Fish, won its 6th straight conference championship and completed their 5th straight undefeated season. The Fish earned 29 individual and relay gold medals at the Conference finals and three swimmers: Jaden Yarbrough (8), Gavin Baldes (10) and Amanda Hei (14) went 4 for 4, earning a gold medal in each event they were entered in. As a team the Fish had 155 swimmers achieve personal best times at the preliminary meet. PRESS RELEASE

Hazelwood School District (Hazelwood Northwest Middle School) social studies teacher Jessica Vishy was been selected by C-SPAN to attend the 2015 educator’s conference in the nation’s capitol in July. SSM Health has been named the Most Wired Health System for a second year by the American Hospital Association's Health Forum and the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives. PRESS RELEASE
The University of Missouri-St. Louis' College of Nursing was awarded a $2,092,506 grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration. The funds from the HRSA will go specifically to the Doctor of Nursing Practice program at UMSL. Principal investigator, Roberta Lavin, associate dean for academic programs in the college, plans to develop and implement a program that is specifically designed to educate students to work with underserved and rural populations. Schneider, who previously has requested that Missouri Governor Jeremiah “Jay” Nixon call a special legislative session to pass a 2-cent increase in the state’s gasoline tax, is urging all announced candidates who are running for the office of governor in 2016 to support the gas tax increase. The Mathematicians in Residence Summer Academy is the result of a Department of Elementary & Secondary Education grant to provide additional professional development in math.
