The Board of Directors for North County
Incorporated (NCI), a regional development
association, has elected Kim Bakker as Chairwoman
for 2010. This is a one-year term, beginning
in January 2010. Bakker succeeds Lillie Dumas,
Vice-President of Commerce Bank, who served
as North County Incorporated's Chairwoman
in 2009. "I have had the pleasure of serving
with Kim Bakker on the Executive Board of
NCI for several years, and I am confident
that she will do a fantastic job of supporting
NCI's 2010 initiatives," Dumas said. "I look
forward to working with Kim as she leads NCI
through another economically challenging year."
Kim Bakker is the Network Director of Community
Affairs for SSM Health Care - St. Louis, a
role created to strengthen and build collaborative
relationships between SSM Health Care and
community leadership throughout the metropolitan
St. Louis area. In this role, Kim is involved
in a number of community and business organizations,
including NCI, local Chambers of Commerce
and the Lambert Airport Rotary Club. She is
often heard telling people that she has the
greatest job because of the privilege of working
closely with people who care passionately
about bettering the quality of life in our
communities. Kim has been with SSM Health
Care for the past eight years, previously
serving as the Community Relations Manager
for SSM DePaul Health Center.
The Board of Directors also named several
new Board members for 2010. NCI's new Board
members for 2010 are Dan Boyle, Attorney with
the Boyle Law Firm, LLC; Kim Braddy, Executive
Director of the Maryland Heights Chamber of
Commerce; Andrea Jackson Jennings, Special
Assistant to St. Louis County Executive Charlie
A. Dooley; and Anita Martinez, Administrator
of ManorCare Health Services.
Dan Boyle is engaged in the general practice
of law, including areas of corporate law,
civil litigation, real estate law and estate
planning. He was also appointed as Provisional
Municipal Judge for the City of Florissant
in August 2006. Dan is a past-president of
the Greater North County Chamber of Commerce,
and is also actively involved with the Florissant
Rotary, the Florissant Parks Foundation and
the Florissant Valley Jaycees, among others.
Kim Braddy has worked with the Maryland
Heights Chamber of Commerce since 2000. As
Executive Director, she promotes activities
and programs to advance the general welfare
and prosperity of the City of Maryland Heights
and continues to develop the Chamber's membership.
She received the Human Relations Champion
Award from Dale Carnegie in 2009.
Andrea Jackson Jennings joined St. Louis
County in March 2006 and currently serves
as one of two special assistants to St. Louis
County Executive Charlie A. Dooley. As a Special
Assistant to the St. Louis County Executive,
she is responsible for communications and
constituents' affairs for North St. Louis
County. She serves on several boards and commissions
and works with various school districts and
other community organizations. In her spare
time, she serves on the Young Professional
Board of the St. Louis Crisis Nursery and
has also worked with a mentoring program for
HIV/AIDS and substance abuse prevention.
Anita Martinez began working with ManorCare
Health Services 25 years ago, and has served
as the Administrator for the past 22 years.
She is a passionate advocate for senior care
and she strives to stimulate involvement and
leadership among the senior community and
professionals in the health care industry.
She is involved in many area committees and
advisory boards, but it is through her community
service efforts that she feels most passionate
about making a difference in the North County
community.
