St. Louis Community College–Florissant Valley is a public community college in Ferguson. It is one of the four schools of the St. Louis Community College System . The campus is located on 108 acres just off of Interstate 270 at West Florissant Avenue. Over 7,000 students attend Florissant Valley. The campus is known for excellence in engineering and technology, in addition to a strong general education curriculum. The campus is home to St. Louis’ only two-year biotechnology program, which is a leader in providing highly skilled workers for this emerging industry. Florissant Valley has continued to build itself out invest millions of dollars into its Corporate College and College for Workforce Solutions and has further plans to upgrade its campus.
Founded in 1827, Lindenwood is a dynamic four-year liberal arts institution dedicated to excellence in higher education. Nestled amid the beautiful linden trees, their historic 500-acre campus is situated in the heart of St. Charles, Mo., with several satellite campuses in the North County area. The University of Missouri–St. Louis (UMSL) is one of four universities in the University of Missouri System. Established in 1963, it is the newest university in the UM System. As of 2013, it is one of the largest universities by enrollment in the St. Louis area with 16,809 students. UMSL’s campus is located directly off of I-70 between S. Florissant Rd. and Hanley. Stretching into the municipalities of Bellerive, Bel-Nor and Normandy. UMSL is in the process of investing over 100 million dollars into it’s own infrastructure as well as into the community via the Great Streets Natural Bridge initiative and other programs.
