North County is the proud home to several scenic and outdoor activities as well as a flourishing arts and cultural center. The University of Missouri-St. Louis is home to the Touhill Performing Arts Center which hosts roughly 150 music, dance, theatre, and educational events a year. The Touhill attracts more than 105,000 a year to its events and is an important part of the art and larger community. UMSL is also home to Gallery 210 which showcases art exhibits and helps to foster the arts community within the student and surrounding community. Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre hosts several live music performances as well. Other North County arts venues include the 322-seat Terry M. Fischer Theater at St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley, which produces two plays during each of the fall
and spring semesters, and which patrons can attend at no cost. The 567-seat Florissant Civic Center Theater, home to the Alpha Players and the Hawthorne Players, North County based theater companies, hosts concerts, plays, dance performances and other arts events.

There is no shortage of great restaurants located in North St. Louis County, with both family-owned and chain restaurants. It is also home to several specialty small businesses, such as craft breweries, which are quickly becoming household names. North St. Louis County is a home to the award-winning, year-round Ferguson Farmers Market, an organic, fresh food source.
