NCI Supports Proposition R for Riverview Garden School District

North County Inc. encourages voters in the Riverview Gardens School District to vote yes on April 3 for Proposition R, which will support much-needed improvements for the school district and its students. Voters living in Bellefontaine Neighbors, Castle Point, Dellwood, Glasgow Village, Moline Acres, Riverview and parts of Ferguson, Jennings and unincorporated St. Louis County will have the opportunity to vote for
Proposition R.

Prop R will not raise taxes. Rather, it will generate approximately $11.7 million in funds to
help repair, renovate and revitalize all district facilities and benefit students and teachers.
It is estimated that $8.4 million will be used for a prioritized scope of needed work, while
$3.3 million will be used to pay off 2009 leasehold bonds.

“Our scholars and teachers deserve safe, comfortable schools and classrooms. If passed, Prop R will allow us to address many districtwide pressing needs such as safety and security upgrades, rooftop repairs, HVAC upgrades, classroom renovations, and technology upgrades among other needed work,” said School District Superintendent
Dr. Scott Spurgeon.

“Every child deserves a quality education in a safe, well-maintained learning environment. North County Inc. encourages residents to vote for Prop R. The passage will help increase quality of life for our children. When our kids thrive so does our community,” said North County Inc. President and CEO Rebecca Zoll.

Prop R needs a 57.14 percent vote for passage and is the only means of addressing these important districtwide needs.
