Congrats to NCI member John Hutchens, Owner and President of Hutchens Mortuary and Cremation Center, on being honored as 2024 Business Person of the Year by the Greater North County Chamber of Commerce.

Congratulations to NCI Member, Rick Dorsey, Attorney, who has been selected, for the 4th consecutive year by Super Lawyers as a top lawyer in creditor debtor rights. Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding lawyers who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. 


Thanks to Stifel and Operation Warm.every student at Pattonville School District’s Drummond Elementary School received a brand-new winter coat. Volunteers from Stifel met one-on-one with a student to pick a coat they would love. Students also received a goodie bag that included winter gloves. MORE INFO


The federal government’s Mental Health Service Professional Demonstration program awarded the College of Education at UMSL a $3.1 million grant, which the university will use to implement an innovative partnership with the Riverview Gardens School District (RGSD) in north St. Louis County. The grant will run for five years. PRESS RELEASE

  • Emerging Initiatives: Nominee is a promising new business, organization, or initiative (in existence for 3 years or less) that is already catalyzing change.
  • Community Changemakers: The nominee is an individual leading and inspiring change in their organization, their community, and/or our region for the benefit of all.

Mercy Health

Thanks! to Mercy’s Volunteer Time Off (VTO) program, Mercy employees continue to positively impact and support local communities. Over 2,171 co-workers donated a total of 12,790 work hours across a four-state area while participating in this program. By the end of 2023, Mercy estimates 2,300 co-workers will have served more than 13,500 hours.

The Normandy Schools Collaborative has scheduled a Community Forum on Wednesday, December 6, 6-7:30 pm, at Beyond Housing, located at 6506 Wright Way. You are invited to participate in this upcoming community forum, where they will provide a district update, discuss crucial matters affecting our schools, and seek your valuable input.

Empower North County selected North St. Louis County families who will have the opportunity to purchase NEW Christmas gifts for their children, at 10% of the original cost on December 9. Families are selected in collaboration with local school counselors and social workers. This year Empower North County will provide gifts for over 450 children. They also partner with Ferguson-Florissant School District Parents as Teachers to allow teen moms to shop in the store. MORE INFO


The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will host a public meeting to gather input for its Route D Road Safety Audit (RSA) on Wednesday, December 13, 4-6 pm at the Midwest BankCentre, 6801 Page Ave. 63133. All who use the corridor, whether walking, riding, driving, biking, etc., are invited to attend this open-house-style meeting.  There will not be a formal presentation.  Individuals may attend the meeting at any time between 4-6 p.m. to speak with Route D team members and share their thoughts/concerns. Riverview Gardens School District’s Parent University will host a Social-Emotional Awareness Workshop from 6:00 – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, Dec. 13 at Gibson Elementary School. The workshop will valuable information on trauma and social-emotional awareness. Candice Cox, CEO of KHAOS, will be the key presenter at the workshop. MORE INFO

On Dec. 14 Riverview Gardens School District will hold a Town Hall on December 14, 6-8pm, at Westview Middle School.

Save The Date: Hazelwood School District Foundation Charity Golf Tournament is Saturday, April 27 at Florissant Golf Club. All proceeds will benefit the Hazelwood School District Foundation’s goal to increase student achievement by removing barriers to success. The cost is $125 per golfer. The signup deadline is Friday, April 12, 2024.
